In 2011, Marie
Taylor Bosarge recognized a need in the community as
music programs disappeared from the public education
system.
As a music lover and former educator, she knew
that in order to thrive and reach their potential,
children needed the arts, particularly music, as an
essential part of their development.
Thus, the mission
of Music Doing Good was created along with the
innovative outreach programs.
Marie also serves
as vice president of Capital Technologies, Inc., which
manages the holdings, business, investment and
philanthropic activities of various trusts for the
Bosarge family.
In particular, she is a director of the
Bosarge Family Foundation, which supports numerous
international and national charities,
including MD
Anderson Cancer Center; Texas Children’s Hospital; A
Glimmer of Hope; the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor,
Maine;
Texas Flying Legends Museum; Cuckolds Lighthouse;
Boothbay Region YMCA; the Coastal Maine Botanical
Gardens;
Howell Opera House in Michigan; Harlem Academy
and KTSU Public Radio in Houston.
Marie is also a Moores School of Music (University of
Houston) Society Member.
Marie and her
husband, Dr. W.E. Bosarge constructed the first off-grid
solar/wind powered “green” island in the Caribbean,
located on the 72 acre Over Yonder Cay in the Exuma
Island chain in the Bahamas. She is also the director of
Petrodome Energy, LLC,
an oil and gas exploration and
production company that is actively engaged in acquiring
and developing 3D seismic and AVO technology based
prospects,
applying the latest advanced technology to
enhance exploration success in the Gulf of Mexico.
Marie obtained
her B.A. in Social Studies Education with a minor in
Interior Design at Southeastern Louisiana University.
